NORCROSS, GEORGIA: – AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® operating systems, is proud to extend ROM Utilities support for ARM-based projects. These utilities allow modifications to be made to the ARM-based firmware images without having to rebuild the firmware. A single build can be modified and used on several platform derivatives.
AMI customers now have additional support for various tools to use with ARM-based projects. ARM firmware support has been incorporated in the following AMI ROM Utilities: AMIBCP, AMISDE, ChangeLogo, and MMTool. These utilities allow for post-build configuration of certain settings within the ARM-based firmware images. Since the tools were extended to support ARM-based projects, the user experience remains the same. All the available tools are compatible with AMI’s flagship Aptio® V UEFI Firmware and designed to work in conjunction with the firmware.
“With the extended ROM Utilities support for ARM-based projects, AMI is facilitating the introduction of new products in the market,” said Subramonian Shankar, CEO of AMI. “Continuous innovative development enables AMI to assist and serve our customers in every aspect of product development and manufacturing, allowing our customers to create high-quality products for their end users.”
“While Aptio customers that already use AMI tools and utilities are in a unique position to quickly support the ARM-based platforms market segment, experienced ARM developers can provide better support of their products leveraging easy to use BIOS solutions. For these developers, our ROM Utilities are created to reduce BIOS development and support learning curves,” added Stefano Righi, Vice President of Utilities and R&D of AMI.
