NORCROSS, GEORGIA: – AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, was in the news recently as Time Magazine published a list of America’s most “genius cities” according to the number of patents awarded by companies operating in the area.
Notably, AMI was acknowledged as the leading patent producer in its hometown of Norcross, Georgia, besting technology and industrial leaders in neighboring companies such as OFS / FITEL Technologies (USA), Scientific-Atlanta and others. Additionally, AMI was noted in the Time article for having produced 373 patents up to 2015; the nearest local company had amassed nearly 200 fewer than that number.
The article, which also ranked Norcross as 14th in the nation in terms of patent production, can be viewed here:
The local Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper also gave a nod to AMI and its achievement in a related story on the Time report:
In the words of AMI Founder, President and CEO, Mr. Subramonian Shankar, “This acknowledgment is a tremendous source of pride for AMI employees, not only those at our corporate headquarters in Norcross but at our numerous locations around the globe. Each and every AMI employee takes our commitment to innovation very seriously; it truly is the lifeblood of our company.”
“Gaining recognition for our patent portfolio serves as fuel for our innovative fire, and news such as this will encourage our talented team of researchers and developers around the world to redouble their efforts in designing world-class solutions for the global computing industry,” he added.
