(AMI), a global leader in BIOS, remote management, network data storage products and unique solutions for the Android™ and Linux® operating systems, is pleased to announce support for the new Intel® Innovation Engine platform in its flagship MegaRAC® PMX platform management solution.
The Intel® Innovation Engine (IE) is a small, embedded Intel-architecture processor and I/O subsystem that will be built into future data center platforms from Intel. MegaRAC® PMX is a powerful platform management solution from AMI composed of firmware and software components based on industry standards like IPMI 2.0, Restful APIs, SMASH, Serial over LAN (SOL) and key serviceability features like remote presence, CIM profiles and advanced automation. It is available for nearly all of the latest System-On-Chip (SoC) designs from the major SOC providers including Aspeed, Emulex and Renesas – and now the Intel Innovation Engine platform.
MegaRAC PMX is embedded directly into IE and allows administrators of IE-based platforms to perform full console redirection, remote power cycle and virtual media redirection. MegaRAC PMX is accessible through a standard web browser and built on HTML5 standards – meaning that no extra software or client is required to access the MegaRAC PMX GUI – and works independently of the BIOS.
For security, the IE code is cryptographically bound to MegaRAC PMX, so that code not authenticated by MegaRAC PMX will not load. Additionally, MegaRAC PMX supports event logging and alerts, sensor readings of SNMP traps, LDAP, SSH and Open SSL to help keep the IE data center platform secure.
“Each feature in MegaRAC PMX is available and built as a separate package. Developers can generate customized source or binary firmware packages for customers, depending upon feature licensing. Each package will have clearly defined, separate common and IE-specific modules to achieve easy portability across data center platforms,” said Sanjoy Maity, VP of MegaRAC at AMI.
“MegaRAC PMX also features flexible configuration capabilities for support of multiple platforms with a single image, dual image support and multiple BMC instance emulation for multi-server management using a single multi-node BMC, making it an excellent remote management solution for data center platforms based on the new Intel Innovation Engine platform,” he added.
