NORCROSS, GEORGIA: – AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is proud to announce it has joined the SUSE 64-bit ARM Partner Program.

Established in 1992, SUSE is the original provider of the enterprise Linux distribution and the most interoperable platform for mission-critical computing. More than 23 years of engineering excellence, exceptional service and an unrivaled partner ecosystem power the products and support that help customers and partners manage complexity, reduce cost, and confidently deliver mission-critical services.

In July 2015, SUSE announced partner program expansion to include support for 64-bit ARM server processors, giving OEM partners additional resources to drive innovation. This allows SUSE partners to develop using AArch64-supported SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 and to offer various solutions on a 64-bit ARM platform for their customers. With the increasing interest in ARM technology, partners have the resources to cater to the needs of the market and increase technological innovations that will address those specific needs. With the attractive value proposition, AMI recently made the decision to join the SUSE ARM Partner Program in order to benefit from the multiple opportunities that would arise thanks to SUSE’s expertise and knowledge. AMI hopes that through the partnership, it will be able to deliver cost-effective, specialized solutions based on the 64-bit ARM ecosystem that will meet the demands of today’s market through continuous development and innovation.

David Byte, senior technology strategist for SUSE, said, “SUSE is pleased to have AMI join the partner program. With this partnership, SUSE and AMI are helping to ensure the maturity and compatibility of 64-bit ARM systems using the AMI BIOS and Firmware solutions. End users and the community as a whole will benefit from mature and tested systems, thus reducing risk to enterprise customers. SUSE looks forward to working with AMI in a continued effort to bring innovation and stability to the 64-bit ARM ecosystem.”
