“We are excited to see AMI’s recognition within Gartner Hype Cycle for XaaS. Our focus on firmware security with products such as TruE and Tektagon enables data center operators to run their compute platforms securely”, says Sanjoy Maity, CEO of AMI.
Firmware is system-level code that manages and orchestrates server infrastructure in the cloud, edge and beyond. With access to critical system resources such as system power, network interface, data storage, and system configuration, it plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper operation of compute devices, facilitating communication between hardware and software for seamless interaction and functionality.
Because of the critical nature of firmware, vulnerabilities in firmware can be used as a gateway for cyberattacks such as ransomware, denial of service, and data exfiltration. These dangers become far worse when corrupt firmware remains undetected and cannot be removed.
As cyber threats evolve, security and operations leaders must prioritize firmware security as part of their Zero Trust framework. By leveraging firmware security solutions such as FPaaS, organizations can add an extra security layer and build greater cyber resiliency.
