This major release delivers a host of new features that greatly expand its firmware provisioning and management capabilities, making large-scale data center infrastructure operations easier and more efficient.
AMI Data Center Manager is an on-premise, vendor-agnostic software solution designed to monitor and manage diverse IT infrastructure, including servers, GPUs, storage, networking equipment, PDUs, and cooling systems. It supports deployment across enterprise data centers, and high-density compute environments, such as those used in AI workloads.
What’s New in AMI DCM Version 6.2
This latest version of AMI DCM introduces significant enhancements designed to simplify large-scale infrastructure management, improve operational visibility, and accelerate data center automation. The new fleet-wide BIOS configuration rollout feature gives administrators the ability to deploy optimized BIOS settings consistently across hundreds or thousands of servers, with template-based BIOS management to streamline deployment and maintain configuration consistency.
The release also expands firmware lifecycle management with end-to-end firmware provisioning, detailed update history tracking, enhanced Redfish®-based provisioning workflows, and improved verification through visibility into firmware versions before and after updates. Optional system reboot capabilities and expanded boot override support further simplify update operations.
To support the growing needs of AI and accelerated computing, AMI DCM 6.2 adds advanced GPU management and diagnostics, including per-process GPU utilization monitoring, GPU inventory visibility, firmware distribution analytics with outlier detection, intelligent visualization, and exportable GPU error reporting.
Additional improvements strengthen power, thermal, and device management across the data center, such as power capping support for AMD-based platforms, enhanced PDU monitoring with temperature visibility, individual and group-level power operations, and LED identification controls for supported devices. New health status heatmaps and device-specific summary views provide faster insights into infrastructure health and performance. AMI DCM 6.2 also enhances data integration and automation with expanded Apache Kafka® streaming support, REST API-based telemetry ingestion, enhanced APIs for PDU power data, and an embedded Redfish API browser. Together, these enhancements enable organizations to manage complex data center environments more efficiently, reliably, and at greater scale.
