NORCROSS, GEORGIA: – AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI firmware, BMC and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is pleased to announce its full support for the Redfish™ 1.0 specification from the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), in both its Aptio® V UEFI BIOS Firmware as well as several products within the MegaRAC® Manageability Framework – the most widely used solution in the market today.
Redfish™ is an open industry standard specification and schema designed to meet the expectations of end users for simple and secure management of modern scalable platform hardware. It is grounded in modern technologies including a RESTful interface and utilizes JSON and OData to help customers integrate solutions within their existing tool chains.
The ultimate goal of Redfish is to address all of the components in the data center with a consistent API, and an aggressive development schedule from the DMTF partner community is successfully making strides to that end.
The latest Redfish 1.0 specification in Aptio® V UEFI BIOS Firmware allows data center administrators to extend their management solutions through the adoption of BIOS, BMC and Extensible Management Architecture (EMA). The support for Redfish 1.0 has added new features that are supported by UEFI firmware, where server managers can update and configure various BIOS settings and updates for multiple servers. Many additional features of the Redfish 1.0 specification take advantage of remote, out-of-band configurations through Redfish, including firmware updates, BIOS setting changes, OS deployment, UEFI Secure Boot, TPM management and system device inventory.
In addition to its industry-leading Aptio® V UEFI BIOS Firmware, known and trusted by Tier One OEMs and ODMs around the globe, products from AMI featuring support for Redfish 1.0 include the fully-integrated MegaRAC Pooled System Management Engine (PSME) firmware solutions, which enable efficient resource management for Network, Storage and Compute hardware throughout the data center, as well as MegaRAC Composer™ Pod Management Software.
