Today, AMI had the pleasure of joining MiTAC Computing Technology® Corporation, an industry-leading server and storage solution provider for enterprise, cloud and 5G edge computing, as MiTAC introduced its new Aowanda AD211 Edge Server incorporating our AMI TruE® Trusted Environment Platform Security Solution for secure 5G computing environments at the Intel Data Centric 2021 event in Taipei, Taiwan.
As collaborators in several NIST® National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) 5G Cybersecurity initiatives, the two companies have worked closely together with other members of the NCCoE 5G team to develop use cases for confidential computing and platform security leveraging our AMI TruE and the key security technologies from Intel® that it employs – such as Intel® Software Guard Extensions (Intel® SGX) and Intel Security Libraries for Data Centers (Intel® iSecL-DC).

In developing its new AD211 platform, MiTAC has applied its many years of leadership in the industry along with its experience participating with NCCoE to deliver an ideal and secure choice for telco infrastructure deployment and 5G network applications. According to Danny Hsu, Vice President of the Server Infrastructure Business Unit of MiTAC Computing Technology Corporation, “The Aowanda AD211 with support for 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors delivers a true trusted 5G and edge computing environment.”

The AD211 supports the standard network rack cabinet, is compliant with Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS) standards and is optimized for chassis depth in a 2U three sleds form factor. With a centralized power supply and server node management design, the AD211 enhances power efficiency and simplifies cable management.

As part of the display at the Taipei event, AMI had the opportunity to show demo footage of AMI TruE in various operational use cases. Stefano Righi, Vice President of Global Software, Security Engineering & Services at AMI, emphasized that “We are proud to have this opportunity to partner with MiTAC, a valued collaborator with us on NIST® NCCoE 5G cybersecurity initiatives, as it introduces the Aowanda AD211 Edge Server with our AMI TruE Trusted Environment Platform Security Solution to the world at Intel Data Centric 2021.”

He added that “As platforms in datacenter and enterprise environments become more complex and more onboard components require their own firmware, the need to verify and secure platform firmware and software has never been more important. To meet the growing need for foundational security, our AMI TruE Trusted Environment Platform Security Solution delivers holistic datacenter security solutions using key security technologies from Intel® to enable Confidential Computing and a Zero Trust security model for cloud execution. AMI TruE simplifies deployment of security technologies like Intel® SGX and enables foundational security use cases through attestation to provide workload protection and ensure execution on trusted servers in compliance with increasing security regulations.”
