New 80,000-square-foot facility consolidates AMI’s largest global engineering hub and adds capacity for continued growth
Today AMI marked another major milestone in its India operations with the grand opening of a new engineering office in Chennai, India, designed to support nearly 850 employees across engineering, product development, customer programs, and operations. This new facility gives AMI’s largest global engineering hub the room it needs to continue scaling, as the company had outgrown its previous Chennai location.
In an opening ceremony on Monday, June 8, Sanjoy Maity, CEO of AMI, inaugurated the new Chennai facility alongside senior leaders from AMI including Anurag Bhatia, B. Parthiban, Joseprabu Inbaraj and Venkatesan B. Special guests from Lattice Semiconductor including CEO Ford Tamer and senior executives Pravin Desale and Ashwani Bhat joined to commemorate the grand opening event.

AMI’s India teams work across the company’s full portfolio, covering BIOS/UEFI firmware, BMC and platform manageability, OpenBMC, firmware security, telemetry, power and thermal management, and infrastructure lifecycle solutions. As AI and rack-scale infrastructure drive greater platform complexity, AMI’s engineering organization in India is positioned to play an increasingly central role in delivering solutions for global customers.
“Our teams in India play a central role in AMI’s core R&D, product innovation, and customer programs,” said Venkatesan Balakrishnan, Country Head & Engineering Head, AMI India. “This new office gives our employees a modern environment where they can collaborate, innovate, and build long-term careers. It also strengthens our ability to engage with customers and partners and demonstrate the value AMI delivers globally.”
The AMI Chennai office complements AMI’s growing engineering center in Kolkata, where the company continues to invest in early-career and experienced technical talent. Together, the two locations anchor India’s role in AMI’s global engineering organization.
