AMI to Sponsor Fall 2018 UEFI Plugfest in Taipei, Taiwan from October 15 -19, 2018

Sep 30, 2018

NORCROSS, Georgia – AMI, a global leader in BIOS and UEFI® firmware, server and remote management tools, data storage products and unique solutions based on the Linux® and Android™ operating systems, is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring the upcoming Fall 2018 UEFI Plugfest in Taipei, Taiwan from October 15-19, 2018.

The UEFI Forum is comprised of the world’s foremost researchers in academia, eminent computer scientists and technology industry leaders from more than 250 member companies, working to develop and maintain the full suite of the UEFI and ACPI specifications. It champions firmware innovation through industry collaboration and the advocacy of a standardized interface that simplifies and secures platform initialization, firmware bootstrap operations and operating systems (OS) booting also providing runtime service for the OS.

As part of its mission, the UEFI Forum also organizes UEFI Plugfest events throughout the year for UEFI members to test the latest UEFI implementations. This year, AMI is once again proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming Fall 2018 UEFI Plugfest, which will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from October 15-19 at the Capital Hotel Dazhi.

UEFI Plugfest brings operating system vendors (OSVs), independent hardware vendors (IHVs), original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and independent firmware vendors (IFVs) together to test their solutions on various platforms, OS and OS versions, as well as with Host Bus Adapter (HBA) plug-in cards. In addition to the testing sessions, members also have the opportunity to attend technical sessions covering firmware-related topics and network with industry-leading member companies. By bringing together a community of well-known technology leaders with vast expertise in firmware development, the UEFI Forum fosters growth and innovation in the global firmware industry.

For this Fall UEFI Plugfest, AMI will be presenting a topic onAdvanced Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Usage. TPMs, introduced by the Trusted Computing Group, have been an integral part of platform security for more than 10 years, evolving over the years through several technology updates. However, from a firmware perspective, many of the security-based capabilities of TPMs have been somewhat overlooked. AMI’s presentation will cover TPM usage from a generic standpoint for firmware, along with the latest applications of TPMs including TPM usage on x86 and Arm®-based architectures, innovative solutions based on TPM usage, and updates on industry requirements.

Online registration for the Fall 2018 UEFI Plugfest is now open for UEFI Forum members at: uefi.org/2018FallPlugfest. Please note that this is a members-only event.
