End-User Support

AMI does not provide direct end-user product support and firmware updates. End-users can only receive product support and firmware updates from the system or board manufacturer, who are also known as OEM or ODMs (OEM/ODM) in our industry.

OEM/ODMs license AMI firmware and add their own proprietary features to it. AMI does not have access to the OEM/ODM's firmware or their modifications. Also, as an added security benefit to their customers, the OEM/ODMs "lock" their hardware to only be updatable using an approved and digitally signed firmware update that they've built, tested and released.
