Today, AMI partner Microsemi made an announcement on our two companies’ recent collaboration on an NVM Express over Fabrics (NVMEoF) solution for data centers based on Intel® Rack Scake Design (RSD) architecture. It leverages Switchtec PCIe switches from Microsemi as well as firmware and software components from AMI to provide manageability.
One key component of the design is MegaRAC® FP-X Fabric Manager Software from AMI, the management interface for the solution, which adds complete, remote and secure fabric management capabilities along with all of the BMC management tasks as defined by IPMI 2.0, as well as Serial over LAN (SOL), complete out-of-band (OOB) connectivity and an advanced component management framework to support PCIe switch-based management, NVMe, RAID and industry-standard drivers.
Together, the combination of technologies from these companies provides essential building blocks for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and original design manufacture (ODM) customers in the hyperscale data center and enterprise markets.
More information on this joint NVMeoF reference design platform and its availability will be forthcoming soon. Details of MegaRAC FP-X Fabric Manager, as well as datasheets and a contact form to request more information, are available on our website here: ami.com/fabric
