AMI's MegaRACĀ®-CMM Chassis Management Module is a hardware/software controller that plugs into any chassis that is SSI (Server Systems Infrastructure) compliant.
The MegaRAC-CMM manages the following components within the Chassis:
- Computer Blades (aka Server Blades)
- I/O Switches
- I/O Specific Modules
- I/O Fan Modules
- I/O System Modules
- Power Supply Modules
The MegaRAC-CMM utilizes the Base Management Interface (BMI) and/or the Ethernet link(s) to communicate with the Compute Blades. The BMI, defined by the Open Blade System Management Specification (OBSM), is also utilized for initial blade discovery and configuration. The monitoring or activation of the Compute Blade can use either the BMI, Ethernet or both.
The MegaRAC-CMM module communicates with the Baseboard Management Controllers located on each Compute Blade within the chassis to offer full remote management capabilities such as Blade State Management, Blade Power Management, Blade Thermal Management, Blade Initiation and Blade Remote Presence.
