AMI’s MG9077 Enclosure Management Controller offers exceptional flexibility: it can be utilized with either SATA or SAS backplanes for applications from entry-level to mission-critical, while providing a cost effective solution. Implementing the most advanced technologies in the field enclosure management protocol SGPIO (Serial GPIO) for SAS and SATA HBAs and SMBus for access to BMC or Service Processor the chip supports LEDs (Activity, Fail/Rebuild and Locate) for up to 8 drives. Multiple chips can be cascaded to support up to 32 drives, for a total of 64 LEDs.
