American Megatrends Inc. Powers Racemi’s 1U Diskless, Ultradense Server

ATLANTA (Monday, August 27, 2001) American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), the leader in storage and computing innovations worldwide, today announced it has jointly developed a custom motherboard with Racemi, an ultradense server technology company. The RACE5 is the industry’s first diskless ultradense server based on the Intel® Pentium® III with an integrated Ethernet switch.

Racemi’s first implementation of its innovative RACE Architecture (Redundant Array of Computing Elements), the Race5 builds upon existing server designs and breaks the barriers of power efficiency and compact design by separating the processing and storage elements of a server to provide an unprecedented degree of performance, flexibility and reliability.
