Industry Leader American Megatrends Recognized as 2012 Star Award Recipient by DMTF Board of Directors

NORCROSS, GEORGIA - American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a global leader in BIOS firmware, remote system management and network storage innovations, was recently recognized as a 2012 Star Award recipient from the Board of Directors of the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF).

The award was presented to Satheesh Thomas, Senior Engineer in the MegaRAC® Manageability Solutions Division of AMI, for contributions “above and beyond the usual call of duty to contribute to the organization’s success,” in the words of Jeff Hilland of Hewlett-Packard, current DMTF President. Mr. Thomas was praised for offering his “time and effort to help advance DMTF standards and initiatives," and he stands in good company with recipients from other industry leaders such as Brocade, Citrix, Intel, Microsoft and Huawei.

DMTF enables more effective management of millions of IT systems worldwide by bringing the IT industry together to collaborate on the development, validation and promotion of systems management standards. The group spans the industry with 160 member companies and organizations, and more than 4,000 active participants crossing 43 countries.
