NORCROSS, GEORGIA - American Megatrends Incorporated (AMI), a leader in BIOS and computing innovations, is pleased to announce its participation at Embedded World 2011 in Nuremburg, Germany, from March 1 through March 3, 2011. AMI will be located in Hall 12, Booth 12-133 of the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg during the course of the event.
The Embedded World Exhibition & Conference is the world's biggest exhibition of its kind and the meeting place of the international embedded community. Embedded technologies are in action everywhere - in automobiles, data and telecommunication systems, industrial and consumer electronics and military and aerospace systems. Embedded World 2011 is once again the showcase for the full range of embedded technologies in hardware, software, tools and development services.
AMI’s exhibit will demonstrate how customers can go beyond BIOS using Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) technology and the industry-leading Aptio® BIOS to add value and reduce time-to-market (TTM) for embedded projects. Throughout Embedded World 2011, AMI will showcase its Aptio® UEFI BIOS firmware, optimized for embedded and mobile platforms, along with a number of BIOS utilities, diagnostics and some real-world examples of Aptio® on various platforms from today’s leading manufacturers.
AMI will also exhibit various development tools for Aptio, such as AMIDebug™ Rx and AMIDiag® for UEFI, along with the recently introduced AMI Provisioning™ pre-boot environment. AMI Provisioning™ integrates firmware configuration, firmware update, hardware diagnostics and pre-OS applications in a UEFI environment. When combined with Aptio® UEFI firmware and AMIDiag™ for UEFI diagnostics, AMI Provisioning™ greatly simplifies system maintenance and configuration.
Additionally, AMI will display a demonstration version of the AMI VR-pulse™ instant-on environment. AMI VR-pulse™ provides superior instant-on capabilities to give users rapid access to web, music, videos and data. It also provides tight BIOS integration for fast boot speeds, allowing applications to be available immediately and lends itself to easy customization, together with a power-efficient design that conserves up to 20% of battery life compared to normal usage. Along with AMI VR-pulse™, all of the standard Aptio® BIOS utilities such as AMIBCP™, MMTool™, DMIEdit™ and more will be on display, so visitors can familiarize themselves more deeply with these tools.
Finally, a number of platforms from leading manufacturers in rugged, netbook, and other unique form factors will be shown in the AMI booth, including an automotive entertainment and navigation platform with MeeGo™ Linux, a tablet platform featuring an Android™ touch interface, an embedded platform for debug with AMIDebug™ Rx and a netbook demonstrating AMI VR-pulse™.
"AMI is proud to once again have the opportunity to showcase its Aptio UEFI BIOS, diagnostic and debug solutions for embedded products on this prominent stage. Embedded World is the preeminent event for embedded solutions and AMI is intent on maintaining its position as a leader in providing cutting-edge BIOS solutions and diagnostic products for this market," said S. Shankar, President and CEO of American Megatrends.
American Megatrends would like to warmly welcome its customers, partners and media representatives to Embedded World to visit the AMI booth for demonstrations and detailed product information on the complete family of quality AMI BIOS and UEFI solutions for embedded and mobile products.
