ATLANTA, GEORGIA - American Megatrends (AMI), a leader in BIOS and computing innovations, will showcase its Aptio® UEFI firmware solutions for mobile and netbook devices featuring the latest generation of the Intel® 5 Series Chipset for mobile systems, MegaRAC® Blade and Server Management Solutions and much more in Booth 429 at the upcoming Intel Developer Forum (IDF) at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco from September 22 to 24, 2009.

AMI will demonstrate the functionality and advantages of its flagship Aptio firmware solution on upcoming notebook products from ASUS and MSI, featuring the next-generation Intel® 5 Series Chipset for mobile systems. Aptio provides a complete firmware solution based on the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) standard. UEFI defines a modern interface between personal computer operating systems and platform firmware, overcoming many limitations in the existing legacy BIOS model. Aptio extends the UEFI model into all aspects of firmware development, leveraging modern concepts in development and deployment tools.

Also available for viewing and demonstration will be the recently released AMIDebug Rx USB handheld debug device, a revolutionary concept in BIOS and UEFI debug. Connected to the demonstrations, AMI will participate in a track presentation by Brian Richardson, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at AMI, entitled "Best Technical Methods for UEFI Development" (Session EFIS004) in Room 2002 of the Moscone Center West at 11:10pm.

Additionally, AMI will unveil its new MegaRAC Chassis Management Module (CMM) during IDF. The MegaRAC CMM is a blade management device compliant with the standards established by the Server System Infrastructure (SSI), a consortium of leading industry organizations in the field of blade component design and management, of which AMI is a sponsor member. In conjunction with this unveiling, Vice President of Research and Development for MegaRAC Remote Management Products, Sanjoy Maity, will also give a presentation on his team’s development of the MegaRAC CMM (Chassis Management Module) and its role in managing SSI-compliant blade chassis systems. The title of this track presentation is "SSI-Interoperability Delivered: How Server System Infrastructure (SSI) Specifications Provides Interoperable Components" (IDF Session ETMS006), and it will be held in Room 2006 of the Moscone Center West on Thursday (9/24) at 2:40 pm.

"AMI is proud to have the opportunity to once again showcase its firmware and server management solutions on the IDF stage. AMI has exhibited at IDF San Francisco for many years, and each year we see a broader interest and participation that underscores our confidence and enthusiasm in this event. This forum has been and remains a key venue for introducing our technology and innovations to our peers and the industry at large," said S. Shankar, President and CEO of American Megatrends.

American Megatrends would like to warmly welcome its customers, partners and media representatives to IDF San Francisco and invites attendees to visit Booth 429 for demonstrations and detailed product information on a multitude of quality AMI products.
