American Megatrends Announces Aptio®4.x and AMIBIOS®8 Support for the Intel® EP80579 Integrated Processor Product Line

ATLANTA, GEORGIA – American Megatrends is pleased to announce that its Aptio4.x UEFI and AMIBIOS 8 firmware solutions support the newly released Intel® EP80579 Integrated Processor product line for embedded and communications applications.

The Intel® EP80579 Integrated Processor product line introduces an embedded IA-32 System-on-a-Chip (SOC), combining memory and I/O controller hub functionality and integrated accelerators with a CPU core based on Intel® Pentium® M architecture. With low power consumption (11-21 watts) and multiple SKU options for performance and application scalability, the Intel SOC product line is designed for a number of innovative embedded, security, IP Telephony and storage applications.

Aptio builds on that experience, providing next-generation BIOS firmware based on Unified EFI (UEFI) and the Intel® Platform Innovation Framework for EFI.
