  • AMI introduces MegaRAC® Service Processor Stack for ServerEngines Pilot II Server Management Controller
  • MegaRAC® SP provides outstanding management features such as SMASH-CLP and WS-MAN

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - American Megatrends, a leader in storage and computing innovations, today announced support of the MegaRAC® SP Service Processor firmware stack for the ServerEngines Pilot II, a highly-integrated Server Management Controller.

MegaRAC SP Service Processor stack provides advanced system management features for the ServerEngines Pilot II, an integrated device that performs many functions previously handled through separate devices such as the baseboard management controller, VGA processor, KVM card (Keyboard, Video and Mouse), Super I/O chip and network interface card.

"Our Pilot II Server Management Controller was the first silicon to incorporate BMC, Graphics processor, Super I/O and Network interfaces into one chip," said Raju Vegesna, President and CEO of ServerEngines. "With our partnership with AMI, and their world class MegaRAC software and support, we will be able gain significant OEM design wins."

"AMI has always been one step ahead in introducing advanced remote management features to enhance OEM server management solutions," said Subramonian Shankar, CEO and President at AMI. "Together, AMI and ServerEngines will enable OEMs to utilize the MegaRAC SP Firmware and the Pilot II Hardware to market systems with state-of-the-art RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) functionality, while reducing development complexity and shortening time to market."

"MegaRAC SP provides sophisticated out-of-band capability, embedded high-speed KVM, virtual media, IPMI 2.0 health monitoring, SMASH/CLP and WS-MAN support along with true remote management functionality," said Sanjoy Maity, AMI’s Senior Vice President of Engineering. "This stack is very feature-rich but also extremely friendly for the developer: quick to build, easy to manage and readily ported across multiple platforms with the extensive AMI tool set and build environment. MegaRAC SP is hardware agnostic and can be ported to advanced BMC’s or SOC’s with ease, to allow OEMs to switch from existing solutions to new and advanced hardware deployed by chip vendors. By choosing the MegaRAC SP Firmware you are guaranteed support across all of your platforms and all the current and future Sever Management Controllers."
