ATLANTA, GEORGIA - American Megatrends announces the release of StorTrends iTX 2.6 data management software for use with the StorTrends 1100i (1U) and 3100i (3U) storage boxes.
StorTrends® iTX 2.6 is the latest in a line of dependable, affordable storage software for networked storage
applications. Configured to run on AMI’s Stortrends 1100 and 3100, which offer storage capacities from 3.75 TB
to 8 TB, it can be ported to other platforms.
"With Stortrends iTX 2.6, AMI has today released software that will provide data storage options to SMB’s that
have, in the past, been reserved for the enterprise corporations." said Subram Shankar, AMI’s founder and
CEO, "Enhancements in StorTrends iTX 2.6 make it an ideal product for high availability for popular applications
like MS Exchange, Oracle, etc. ITX 2.6 uses advanced snapshot, synchronous replication and snap assisted
replication technologies for the purpose. AMI is especially proud of intuitive and user friendly graphic interface of
the rollback process to the recovery point in the unfortunate event of data loss or data corruption."
iTX 2.6 supports the following features in addition to those available in the previous release of iTX 2.5:
- Snap Assisted Replication (SAR) for both SAN and NAS.
- High Availability (HA) grouping for Synchronous Replication (for MS Exchange, SQL server, etc.)
- ManageTrends enhancements to support new features in iTX 2.6.
- ManageTrends user interface Customization Tool.
AMI offers a variety of replication options to meet differing customer requirements. While synchronous
replication is suitable for storage boxes in close proximity, SAR enables efficient implementation of
replication when two StorTrends boxes are located in different geographical locations, thousands of
miles apart. SAR reduces the data that has to be transmitted for replication by transmitting only the
differences between successive snap shots, allowing replication over even slower networks or when
the network availability is limited to specific time periods.
Using replication HA is achieved by automatic failover to a secondary storage unit if the primary unit
were to fail. With synchronous replication, there will be no loss of data if the primary were to fail.
Another attractive feature available with iTX 2.6 is the ease with the user can inspect and recover the
right snap to roll back to in the event of a data corruption. With hundreds of snaps, what could
otherwise be a lengthy and laborious process has been dramatically simplified.
StorTrends iTX 2.6 is ideal for SMB’s looking for enterprise class features at the right price.
StorTrends iTX 2.6 can address a myriad of storage applications from storage consolidation, back-up,
disaster recovery, high availability and other applications.
