ATLANTA, GEORGIA – American Megatrends announces that its AMIBIOS8 system software fully supports Microsoft Vista requirements for a variety of Vista-ready chipsets and components.
The advancements in upcoming Windows Vista will bring end-users visual and sound quality previously unseen in PC systems, as well as consistent improvements in system security and reliability. Vista’s achievements require support for a series of system initialization and management technologies that must be enabled by BIOS at startup.
Hardware products and components and the relative firmware drivers supporting those requirements will qualify for Vista Basic or Premium Logo if they satisfy a battery of tests available at Microsoft WHQL laboratory website.
'AMI is ready for Microsoft’s upcoming Vista operating system. PCs operating this system coupled with our AMIBIOS8 or Aptio firmware, or any of our storage products, will see an enhanced user experience at a new level. Vista offers a breakthrough in terms of system security, reliability and resiliency to viruses and external attacks. We feel that AMI has taken the lead in preparation of the release of Vista’ said S.Shankar, AMI’s founder and CEO.
AMIBIOS8’s latest version has successfully passed the applicable tests harnessed by Microsoft’s:
- Device Testing Manager
