ATLANTA, GEORGIA - American Megatrends will display StorTrends® iTX 2.6 at Storage Decisions Fall Show September 27-29, 2006 in New York City.
StorTrends® iTX 2.6 is the latest in a line of dependable, affordable storage appliances for network operation that provide enterprise-level performance, high availability and disaster recovery at a price accessible to small businesses and departments.
StorTrends iTX 2.6 dual-dialect software stack provides both file-based and block-based storage, enabling businesses to utilize existing ethernet networks to simplify data management while cutting storage expenditures. The software includes many enterprise level features such as synchronous, asynchronous and snap-assisted replication while offering the simple, intuitive interface that smaller business demand. AMI’s technology supports block-based and file-based data transfers, allowing customers to enjoy the advantages of both major storage technologies: the storage centralization and scalability of IP-based Storage Area Networks and the ease of use of Network Attached Storage.
Designed with enterprise features, appliances featuring StorTrends iTX 2.6 are cost-effective, easy to setup and truly scalable. Thin provisioning technology enables administrators to create and manage storage volumes without restrictions: the provisioned storage volume can be significantly larger than current storage capacity. This allows the IT office to purchase additional storage hardware as business needs grow.
Snap-Assisted replication is the main feature added with version 2.6. The technology allows replication of snapshots in chronological order on a remote machine. Snaps can be organized according to application-based consistency groups. On a fail-over to secondary, StorTrends iTX will automatically rollback to the latest consistent snapshot.
Advanced features of the StorTrends iTX 2.6 software include synchronous replication, adaptive provisioning, advanced snapshot and advanced caching and. Synchronous replication allows data to be stored on multiple StorTrends appliances at multiple sites, which enables high availability and disaster recovery.
