Management Firmware from American Megatrends Demonstrated with National Semiconductor and Renesas Technology BMC Chips

Atlanta, GA (Tuesday, November 25, 2003) American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a leader in computing innovations worldwide, today announced its IPMI server management firmware for server and embedded motherboards was successfully demonstrated with National Semiconductor and Renesas Technology Baseboard Management Controllers (BMCs) on Intel®’s next generation reference platforms.

During the Intel System Management Event held this month in Dupont (WA), AMI worked with National Semiconductor and Renesas Technology to showcase its MegaRAC PM and AMIBIOS8 on Intel’s Lindenhurst reference platform. AMI’s firmware is IPMI-standard based and complements the advanced hardware Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) features built into the Intel Lindenhurst chipset.
