American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), the leading developer of computing and storage solutions, announces the version 2.0 of AMIDiag for Windows diagnostic software.

AMIDiag® 2.0 for Windows benefits from AMI’s many years of experience in PC diagnostics accumulated with AMIDiag for DOS, one of the most comprehensive and successful diagnostic software packages on the market. AMIDiag for Windows fully operates under Windows; it is not a shell running a DOS application underneath.

AMIDiag 2.0 for Windows introduces important changes in the product architecture providing OEMs and system administrators the features they need:

  • Windows XP compatibility: XP is added to the list of supported operating systems, 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP;
  • CDM compliance: allows AMIDiag 2.0 for Windows to automatically integrate third party CDM-compliant diagnostic modules;
  • A preferred set of tests can be recorded in a script and run in batch mode;

With AMIDiag for Windows, users can detect and diagnose all the main system components with the advantage of an improved Graphical User Interface. A Trouble Ticket providing all the system info and test results can be generated and sent via e-mail. Test coverage has been extended for CD-ROM, Memory, Modem, Video and Audio with more than 30 additional tests. A detailed event log records all the performed activity.
